Avenida del Alcázar
The Avenida del Alcázar runs parallel to the right-hand bank of the Guadalquivir river between the Roman Bridge and the Bridge of San Rafael. The avenue gets its name from its position, as it borders the southern wall of the Castle (‘Alcázar’ in Spanish) of the Christian Monarchs. The long stretch of wall next to the road once formed the southern flank of the fortress itself, and the scenic walk along the banks of the Guadalquivir affords excellent panoramic views of the the Albolafia woodlands.
