Paseo de la Ribera
The avenue known as Paseo de la Ribera starts at the Plaza de la Cruz del Rastro and ends in Ronda de los Mártires, with the streets Enrique Romero de Torres, Consolación and Noques branching off it to the north. This popular promenade beside the river was known until the middle of the 19th century as “Ribera de Curtidores” (Promenade of the Tanners), as many tanning establishments existed in this neighbourhood. Later, from the end of the 19th century to the present day, the Paseo de la Ribera de Cordoba has become one of the most popular haunts for the Cordovan people throughout the year, with the river close by and its pleasant natural surroundings. Over the last few years, a wide selection of bars and restaurants have sprung up.
