Palacio de los Aguayo
|
Just next to the church of San Pedro, in a small square which bears the same name, stands the stately home of the Aguayo family. It is a delightful building, used nowadays as the Sagrada Familia School, known popularly as the Las Francesas (the French Women). The attractive façade was built at the turn of the 16th century, and is decorated with medallions of laurel leaves and the family coat of arms. The most attractive features inside are the magnificent black and red marble staircase and a large garden.
