La Cazuela de la Espartería
The La Cazuela de la Espartería tavern opened its doors in February 1998 with an aim to cultivate and disseminate the deeprooted gastronomy and wine culture in Cordoba. It is situated in a privileged location right between the Tendillas Square, which is the nerve and commercial centre of the city, and the Corredera Square, which dates back to the 17th century and is the only rectangular square in Andalusia similar to the main squares found in Castilla.
An encounter between the past and the present, the Corredera main square is the most popular gathering place today for locals and visitors alike during their free time and where life and the good living philosophy is perceived all around. Plus, La Cazuela de la Espartería is also a meeting place for celebrations, wine sampling and artistic presentations.
The gastronomy offered at La Cazuela de la Espartería includes the traditional cuisine of a typical Cordovan tavern with portions of good salmorejo cordobés, scrambled eggs, flamenquin breaded ham rolls, fried fish and specialties like eggplant with salmon, baby beans with foie gras, artichokes with oxtail, baby squid with fried eggs, chocolate brownies and fried custard squares.
