Over the centuries, this building has been a stately home, belonging to leading families such as the Fernandez de Cordoba, Sigler de Espinosa, Aguilar and Gongora y Argote families. It was rebuilt as a hotel with the utmost respect for the history and architecture of the building by Ignacio Medina Fernandez de Cordoba, Duke of Segorbe, and Alonso Moreno de la Cova y Silva. Its current owners, Pedro Fernández-Salvador Fernandez de Heredia and his wife, the Cordoban writer, Maria Martinez-Martin Sagrera, have strictly conserved these noble houses in keeping with their ancient tradition.
