Historic Taverns

Did you know that there are several distinguished historic taverns in Cordoba?

The historic taverns of Cordoba have always been meeting and debate places for intellectuals, bullfighters, artists, craftsmen or fans of flamenco, literature, bullfighting, sports or politics. They are mostly scattered throughout the historic centre and are proud witnesses of the history of Cordoba society, having contributed to the development of community values ??such as tolerance, the free exchange of knowledge, coexistence, memory, integration and friendship. Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Luis de Góngora, Julio Romero de Torres, Manolete, Ricardo Molina, the Cántico group, Valle-Inclán, Azorín, Ortega y Gasset and Pío Baroja have all visited them, among others.

Many of these establishments, as well as the gastronomic-culinary art and wine culture typically from Cordoba that they have traditionally offered, appear in the travel guides of Cordoba and are one of its differential values, having an evident cultural and tourist interest, forming part of a unique urban landscape.

For this reason, in 2024, the City Council decided to grant the "Historic Tavern of the city of Córdoba" badge to those who requested it and met the following requirements:

Currently 12 taverns have this badge:
