Convento de Santa Clara
|
The convent was built on top of a primitive 10th century mosque, and both the minaret (now a bell-tower) and the entrance from calle Osio still survive from this period. The building was no longer used as a monastery after the mid 19th century and is now in a almost derelict state. The lower part of the minaret dates from Moslem times, although the upper part is a Christian addition. The main entrance onto calle Rey Heredia, preserves some 18th century features.
